Conducting Business at the Orchestra The Florida Times-Union This graphic ran on the front page of the main section. Given the boring nature of financial statistics, I decided to make an engaging illustrative graphic with lots of layers of information comparing multiple area symphonies and their financial statistics. This graphic won several awards, including SPJ 1st place in Graphic Design and FSNE 3rd place in News Graphics.

How to Brew Beer The Florida Times-Union This graphic ran on the front page of our lifestyle section and involved a lot of research interviewing brewers to create the best possible starter guide. I coordinated with a photographer to obtain pictures of the brewing process to correspond to the graphic.

Piñon Canyon: Training for wide-open warfare The Denver Post For this graphic, I drove to the military base and interviewed a training operations commander about the typical missions they do with soldiers. I borrowed actual army toys from a toy shop and photographed them to use in this photoshoped illustration. It also has an accompanying interactive graphic created in flash.
